Brainstorming is a technique used to generate ideas and solutions first popularized by Alex Faickney Osborn in his book Applied Imagination.

  1. Assemble group of 7 to 10 people.

  2. Write problem in form of question on white board or display pad. Or, use sentence stems.  Example, We could increase sales if we……..?

  3. List answers on boards. As many as possible. Do not judge any until tomorrow.

  4. Sleep on it.

  5. Regroup and list more answers on boards. Do not discuss any until all are listed.

  6. Sleep on it.

  7. Pick a solution and implement immediately.
